Chapter 3: The Trip

Kyle pays the fund and ends his school session. He cycles back home and greeted his father. He runs up to his room and open the book he borrowed. He then continues reading after he has finished his dinner. He matches the necklace with the picture behind the book. Suddenly, the book flashes. Kyle blinds for a while. He rubs his eyes to fix his vision and sees that the picture from behind the book is attached with the necklace. He could not take it apart. Then, he takes out the map from Mrs Buckley and finds the page with the same picture. "Of course!", says Kyle with a felt of silliness. If the map is a secret, then how could a book with a picture of the map be without a secret.

Suddenly, he hears footsteps coming towards his bedroom door. It was his father. His father goes into the room and greeted. "Hey sport, ready to go on your adventure tomorrow?" asks Kevin. Kyle quickly hides the map in the book and the book under his blanket. "Um, no. I haven't prepared anything yet." replies Kyle. "then what are you doing under the blanket? come on, let's get prepared. I'll write a check list for you.", says his dad, trying to help. While he writes down the list, he had a chat with Kyle. "Say Kyle, do you have any of your friends going to the trip?". "well, no", Kyle says sadly. "That's okay, you can make new friends. Remember to choose your friend wisely." says his dad. "here you go, all the things you need. I'm off to bed now, you prepare yourself by this. Okay. Good night!", says his dad giving the list to Kyle. He also gives a yawn. Kyle quickly prepares his stuff according to the list. He stuffs his thing into a big backpack. He also places the book neatly. As the book says, "A sack of gold is what you need", he gets his coins in his tube and places it next to the book.

By morning, Kyle cycles to school slowly while looking towards the research field. Then, Kyle has his eyes dazzled suddenly. He quickly searches for it. He spotted a small silver box. As he gets closer, he sees that the box has a symbol on the lid. It matches with the necklace which was given from Mrs Buckley. "cool", whispered Kyle. He then sneaks it into his backpack. Kyle continues to his school and sees a comfortable, school trip bus. It has air-conditioners and beautiful curtains inside. The seats has a table behind them. It is very so cozy in there. The History Teacher calls out to Kyle. "Kyle, this is your bus. Quick, get in. We are about to leave". Kyle parks his bike and runs to the bus. He climbs the bus gripping the bars tightly with a happy face. Kyle gets to sit at the back of the bus where there are high seats and fresher air conditioners.
"All set?" asks the history teacher. "Yeah!" shouts the pupils in the bus. "Buckle your seat-belts and lets go!", he says.

Kyle begins his journey safely. The history teacher sits beside him. Kyle takes out his history book and read. "What have you got there?" asks the history teacher. "A history book frrom the library". replies Kyle.
Then, the teacher saw two boys fighting for a video game behind the bus driver. "Excuse me Kyle, I've got work to do", excuses the teacher. Kyle smiles. "Hey, haven't you to got any other things instead of fighting? Mike, get on the back of the bus. You guys might disturb the driver and we might get an accident!", scolds the teacher. Mike marches angrily to the back of the bus. "Hey, what happened?" tries Kyle to cheer Mike up. "That jerky Mr. George had his eyes incorrect. That video game was mine! too bad that the rules in here were not to fight." speaks Mike straight from his feelings. "Why didn't you tell the truth to the teacher?" asks Kyle. "Well, okay it wasn't mine!" chuckles Mike. Kyle sighs. "What have you got there?!" speaks Mike as he snatches the history book from Kyle. "Hey! It was from the library! Give it Back!", shouted Kyle. "Hey, you're a nerd. HAHAHA! No wonder you are lonely." laughs Mike. "Things are going to change while I'm here,  from now one you won't need this book", says Mike as he reaches himself to a nearby window. "No! Give it back!" yells Kyle as he tries to get his book back. As Mike is about to throw the book out the window, he sees a dragon holding a star at the back of the book. "Cool!", says Mike as he cancelled himself to throw the book through the window. He tries the get the dragon out from the book by force but Kyle snatches the book while pushing off Mike's face. "Ouch! Seems like you're not a nerd after all". "Well, i'm not!', replies Kyle angrily. Mike laughs as he turns his head around. A few moments later, Mike started a new conversation. "What's that book about?," he asks. Kyle ogles to Mike. "Its about the history of Prideland. It was used to be called the Pride Islands", explains Kyle. "Interesting..", Mike says with a long 'ing' sound.

At last the bus arrives. "We're here!" shouts Mike rushing towards the exit. Kyle grabs his bag and follows him. As they step out from the bus, they saw a big, beautiful meadow covered with yellow and white daisies. An eagle circling the meadow and the wind breeze blowing the autumn trees. "Cool", whispers Kyle. "Hmph, seems okay to me", says Mike. Kyle stared back at Mike. "Alright, everyone off the bus and get in line", says Mr. George. He then tours his students around the meadow. They go into forests, fields, jungles and caves before they reach for the ruins. Kyle couldn't wait for seeing ruins.

At last, they've reach the ruins. It is quite dark as it was about to rain. Mr.George looks up the sky. "Its going to rain. We should head back to the bus. I'm very sorry kids but looks like we will have to put an end on this trip", says Mr. George with disappointment. Kyle puts on his sad face and walks quietly while looking at his feet, following Mr.George's footsteps. Suddenly, he sees a shiny thing on the ground. He looks at the group walking away and quickly grabbed the thing and hurried back to his line.
